CYCLES WITHIN NATURE

LOTUS FLOWER

Lotus plants are aquatic herbaceous perennials that are mostly native to Australia and Southern Asia. The flower is symmetrical in form and comes in a variety of beautiful colours that pop over its landscape.
Growing deep in the mud far away from the sun, it will finally meet and bloom into a beautiful charming flower.

"In Ancient Egypt, the lotus flower is associated with rebirth and the sun. Egyptians believe that the sun and the lotus flower have one thing in common – disappearing at night and re-emerging fresh in the morning. Because of such association, the lotus flower also symbolizes creation (Petal Republic Team, 2021)."

In eastern religions the lotus flower is seen as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self regeneration and rebirth.

Vector Equilibrium

The Vector Equilibrium, as its name describes, is the only geometric form wherein all of the vectors are of equal length. This includes both from its center point out to its circumferential vertices, and the edges (vectors) connecting all of those vertices.

Having the same form as cuboctahedron, it was Buckminster Fuller who discovered the significance of the full vector symmetry in 1917 and called it the Vector Equilibrium in 1940. With all vectors being exactly the same length and angular relationship, from an energetic perspective, the VE represents the ultimate and perfect condition wherein the movement of energy comes to a Fstate of absolute equilibrium, and therefore absolute stillness and nothingness.

As Fuller states, because of this it is the zero-phase from which all other forms emerge.
COLOUR PALETTE

Colour Gradients show a gradual blending from one color to another, this is a sign of transitioning as we endeavour to explore the transitioning of the four natural elements in our environment.

Green Gradient
The olive green shown represents peace, think of nature and you see all green, it has harmony, stability and brings balance. The green lotus leaf provides the Vector Equilibrium with a safe place to rest upon.

Red, Orange Yellow Gradient
The centre of the lotus petals are a combination of yellow and red that makes orange convey excitement, warmth and enthusiasm. This bright engaging gradient, is the color of the extrovert, manifesting happiness and joy, releasing inhibitions.
